This year’s Innovation Day is hosted at a unique and fitting location: Evoluon Eindhoven. The distinctive ‘flying saucer’-shaped building dates from the 1960s, when it was designed to showcase the technological progress of that era, and in particular of Philips.
The famous lighting company offered Evoluon to the city of Eindhoven in 1966 on the occasion of Philips’ 75th anniversary. As you may know, Holst Centre was named after Gilles Holst, a Dutch research and development pioneer and the first director of Philips Research.
The current exhibition at Evoluon matches perfectly with our Innovation Day theme. ‘Retro Future’ explores our perception of the future throughout history, and shows our current expectations of the future. Don’t miss it!
